A Love Letter to My Nutrition Clients

First things first: I love you guys. Truly, I do. But we need to have a heart-to-heart, and yes, it’s going to be equal parts tough love, humor, and that warm fuzzy feeling you get when you realize someone cares about you. So here goes…

  1. I can’t work harder than you (but sometimes I really want to).

Trust me, there are days I wish I could jump in and meal prep, hit the gym, or say “no” to that tempting snack for you. But, alas, that’s not how this works. When we start this journey together, I always ask: Are you ready, willing, and able to make a change? Because that’s what it takes. I’m all in for you, but you’ve got to be all in for yourself, too.

  2. Yes, it’s going to get uncomfortable.

Look, I know—“nothing worth having comes easy” is about as exciting as “eat your vegetables.” But, in all honesty, what we do together isn’t rocket science. It’s simple stuff, but the magic happens in the consistency. You might think,  “I can’t hit that target.” Then, one day, BAM—you do it. And before you know it you’re hitting it again and again like a pro. That’s the sweet spot we’re aiming for!

  3. I’m not a mind reader (shocking, I know).

I love our check-ins, but if something’s going on and you don’t tell me, guess what? I have no idea. Contrary to popular belief, I don’t have a crystal ball. If you’re stressed, confused, or unsure about something, tell me! I’m here to help, but I can’t address what I don’t know. So spill the beans (they’re full of fiber, after all).

  4. This relationship? It’s a two-way street.

I ask a lot of questions. Annoying, right? But there’s a reason. When I ask if you’re ready, willing, and able to make certain changes, I need real answers. Honest ones. If we don’t have that open dialogue, we can’t figure out what’s holding you back or how to overcome it. So let’s talk! I promise I don’t bite (unless there is ice cream involved).

  5. Respect your time—because it’s precious.

I respect your time. I respect my time. But most of all, I want you to respect the time you’re investing in yourself. You’ve made a commitment to being here, so show up for you. Prioritize those check-ins, show up for our calls, plan your meals like a boss. You’ve got goals, and we’re going to crush them—together.

  6. Fat loss might be the goal, but it’s not always Step 1.

I get it—most people come to me wanting to lose body fat. But here’s the deal: just because that’s your goal doesn’t mean I’m going to throw you straight into a calorie deficit. We need to build some solid habits first, and sometimes we’ve got to focus on getting your metabolism firing on all cylinders before we even think about cutting calories. Trust the process. We’re setting the foundation for lasting change, not a quick fix. (Quick fixes are overrated anyway, am I right?)

In conclusion: I’m your biggest cheerleader, your nutrition nerd, and occasionally your drill sergeant. But I’m always, always rooting for you.

With love (and just a little tough love),

Your Nutrition Coach
