do You know how to lift your baby correctly?

The name “Burpees and Babies” was created as a cute and catchy title, we don’t actually do burpees during class. This class is truly a postpartum fitness program. The majority of the work done in class focuses on learning how to correctly pick your baby up from the floor or lift them in and out of the crib. You will learn the proper way to breathe to prevent lower back injuries while also strengthening your core and pelvic floor. Each class begins with a focus on diaphragmatic breathing. You will work on connecting your core with slow breathing while remaining completely still, and then incorporate the breathing into slow movements.

The class then shifts to specific core and pelvic floor strengthening. During this time, you will be coached through a wide range of low-impact movements utilizing body weight, bands, dumbbells, kettlebells or even your little one! Each class concentrates on two movements at a time to help you become familiar with the movements and ensure that you are breathing correctly. These movements build on each other throughout the 10 weeks as you grow stronger and as your body adapts to the new stimuli.

In the next part of the class, the initial movements are incorporated, and the pace is increased slightly to elevate heart rates and focus on releasing those feel-good endorphins! Participants always work out at a pace that feels comfortable for them.

Whether you gave birth vaginally or had a c-section, your pelvic floor and core were impacted during pregnancy. It’s common to think that the birth itself is the biggest culprit behind issues like leaking when jumping, but the nine months of carrying a baby also puts a lot of stress on your body. The goal of this class is to gradually strengthen your core and pelvic floor while also reinforcing the most utilized muscles in motherhood. This way, you can easily pick your baby up off the floor, lift them in and out of their highchair or crib, and continue doing so as they grow bigger and heavier.
